Nine species are reported as new to nine vice counties
Below are the latest new vice county records;
Ophiomyia alliariae Hering, 1954 – NEW TO VC37. Andy & Melissa Banthorpe found stem mine at Salwarpe, Worcestershire on 14 September 2024.
Amauromyza labiatarum (Hendel, 1920) – NEW TO VC26. Sam Newton found leaf mines at Bradfield Woods NNR, West Suffolk on 13 September 2024.
Chromatomyia centaurii Spencer, 1990 – NEW TO VC53. On 13 September 2024, Richard Davidson recorded larval mines at Duke’s Covert, South Lincolnshire.
Chromatomyia milii (Kaltenbach, 1864) – NEW TO VC42. On 18 May 2024, Dave Brice collected adults at Carngafallt, Breconshire.
Liriomyza flaveola (Fallén, 1823) – NEW TO VC42. Dave Brice obtained adults at Carngafallt, Breconshire on 18 May 2024; NEW TO VC43 – Dave Brice collected adults on 18 May 2024 at Llandrindod Lake, Radnorshire.
Liriomyza pascuum (Meigen, 1830) – NEW TO VC26. Sam Newton found leaf mines at Bradfield Woods NNR, West Suffolk on 13 September 2024.
Liriomyza violiphaga (Hendel, 1932) – NEW TO VC47. On 12 September 2024, Sam Thomas recorded larval mine at Llanymynech Rocks, Montgomeryshire.
Phytomyza angelicae Kaltenbach, 1872 – NEW TO VC36. David Griffith found leaf mines on 13 September 2024 at Mowley Valley, Herefordshire.
Phytomyza varipes Macquart, 1835 – NEW TO VC91. Chris Hynes found puparia at St Cyrus, Kincardineshire on 22 July 2024; NEW TO VC107 – Chris Hynes found puparia on 14 September 2024 at Loch Fleet, East Sutherland.
