Several new vice county records are reported for 21 species
The following new vice county records are hereby reported;
Agromyza anthracina Meigen, 1830 – NEW TO VC92. Kevin Paterson found leaf mines at Invercauld House, South Aberdeenshire on 10 November 2024.
Agromyza filipendulae Spencer, 1976 – NEW TO VC36. David Griffith found leaf mines at Mowley Valley, Herefordshire on 11 October 2024.
Agromyza frontella (Rondani, 1875) – NEW TO VC33. Graeme Davis recorded leaf mines at Hammonds Farm, East Gloucestershire on 15 October 2024.
Agromyza varicornis Strobl, 1898 – NEW TO VC62. On 16 October 2024, Sam Buckton found larval mines at St Nicholas Fields, North-east Yorkshire.
Ophiomyia alliariae Hering, 1954 – NEW TO VC30. On 5 October 2024, Andy & Melissa Banthorpe found stem mines at Flitwick Moor, Bedforshire.
Ophiomyia labiatarum Hering, 1937 – NEW TO VC30. Andy & Melissa Banthorpe found a stem mine with puparium at King’s Wood, Bedfordshire on 19 September 2024.
Ophiomyia melandricaulis Hering, 1943 – NEW TO VC3. On 27 October 2024, John Day found stem mine at Mothecombe Grove, South Devon.
Aulagromyza tridentata (Loew, 1858) – NEW TO VC3. John Day recorded leaf mines on 12 October 2024 at Fursdon, South Devon.
Aulagromyza luteoscutellata (de Meijere, 1924) – NEW TO VC72. On 1 October 2024, Paul Cobb found leaf mines at Mennock, Dumfreisshire; NEW TO VC106. Murdo MacDonald recorded leaf mines at Brahan, East Ross & Cromarty on 28 September 2024.
Amauromyza flavifrons (Meigen, 1830) – NEW TO VC94. Scott Shanks recorded leaf mines at Linn Brae, Banffshire on 26 October 2024.
Cerodontha iridis (Hendel, 1927) – NEW TO VC31. On 5 March 2024, Lisa Rowley recorded leaf mines at Hemingford Grey, Huntingdonshire.
Chromatomyia lonicerae (Robineau-Desvoidy, 1851) – NEW TO VC30. Andy & Melissa Banthorpe found leaf mines at King’s Wood, Bedfordshire on 10 October 2024; NEW TO VC56. Tom Shields recorded leaf mines at Colwick Park on 3 November 2024.
Liriomyza pusilla (Meigen, 1830) – NEW TO VC31. Richard Davidson recorded leaf mines at Stibbington, Huntingdonshire on 19 October 2024; NEW TO VC32. Richard Davidson recorded leaf mines at Easton on the Hill, Northamptonshire on 19 October 2024; NEW TO VC57. Richard Davidson found leaf mines at Barlborough CP, Derbyshire on 18 October 2024.
Nemorimyza posticata (Meigen, 1830) – NEW TO VC5. Will Langdon found leaf mines at East Water Valley, South Somerset on 10 August 2024.
Phytomyza aconiti Hendel, 1920 – NEW TO VC62. Alastair Fitter recorded leaf mines at Huntingdon, North-east Yorkshire on 8 October 2024.
Phytomyza agromyzina Meigen, 1830 – NEW TO VC99. Dean Stables recorded leaf mines at Forth & Clyde canal, Dunbartonshire on 1 October 2024.
Phytomyza chaerophylli Kaltenbach, 1856 – NEW TO VC99. Dean Stables recorded leaf mines at Forth & Clyde canal, Dunbartonshire on 19 November 2024.
Phytomyza crassiseta Zetterstedt, 1860 – NEW TO VC75. Paul Cobb found a leaf mine at Brocklar, Ayrshire on 25 September 2024.
Phytomyza glechomae Kaltenbachm 1862 – NEW TO VC75. Paul Cobb recorded leaf mines at Howford Bridge, Ayrshire on 11 August 2024.
Phytomyza minuscula Goureau, 1851 – NEW TO VC92. Kevin Paterson recorded leaf mines at Lee cres north, South Aberdeenshire on 27 October 2024.
Phytomyza tussilaginis Hendel, 1925 – NEW TO VC67. Louise Hislop found larval mines at Wylam, South Northumberland on 17 September 2024.
