Leaf miner is added to the Outer Hebrides Diptera list
On 21 August 2023, Robin Sutton spotted the leaf-mines of Phytomyza petoei Hering, 1924 on Lemon balm (Melissa) at Eochar, South Uist, Outer Hebrides VC110. Although the mines were found within a greenhouse, this is the first known record for the vice county. Many thanks to Robin for submitting his records to the Outer Hebrides Recording Group, who kindly provided the scheme with their latest dataset.
