Phytomyza species reported as new to West Sussex Diptera list
On 12 August 2023, Sam Thomas collected a male specimen of Phytomyza solidaginis Hendel, 1920 from Rewell Woods, West Sussex, VC13. This represents the first known record of the species in the vice county. Many thanks to Sam for submitting his record.
Most records of this species in the schemes database are larval mines so Sam’s adult record is very much welcomed!
