Species new to VC19

Species is added to the Agromyzidae list for North Essex

On 22 December 2023, Simon Wood found the medullary spots of Phytobia carbonaria (Zetterstedt, 1848) in a Hawthorn stem from his North Essex (VC19) garden. Simon’s observation is the first known record of the species in the vice county. Many thanks to Simon for getting in touch with the scheme.
