And another new vice county record received for Phytobia cerasiferae!
On 20 December 2023, Daniel Blyton examined the sucker growth of a mature Cherry Plum tree in his North Essex (VC19) garden for the feeding signs of Phytobia cerasiferae (Kangas, 1955). Daniel found medullary spots and the distinctive feeding tracks of the species, which represents the first known record for the vice county. Many thanks to Daniel for getting in touch with the scheme and submitting the record.
