Another vice county first for a cambium mining Phytobia species
Robert Homan submitted a record, on 8 December 2023, of the larval signs of Phytobia carbonaria (Zetterstedt, 1848), based on medullary spots present in a Hawthorn (Crataegus) branch from Cheltenham, East Gloucestershire VC33.
This observation represents the first known record of P. carbonaria in the vice county. Many thanks to Robert for submitting the record.
