Species new to VC40

Phytobia cerasiferae is recorded for the first time in Shropshire

On 21 December 2023, John Lyden found the medullary spots of Phytobia cerasiferae (Kangas, 1955) in Blackthorn stems from his orchard hedge (420m asl) in Shropshire VC40, representing the first record of this species in the vice county. Many thanks to John for submitting his observation.
