Rare Phytomyza species is added to the Glamorganshire Diptera list
On 22 May 2023, David Gibbs collected a male Phytomyza orobanchia Kaltenbach, 1864 at Port Talbot Docks, Glamorganshire VC41. This is the first known record for the vice county and just the second record for Wales. Many thanks to David for sending in his record.
The flies were found on Orobanche picridis-hieracioidis, of which there is a very large colony at Port Talbot (D. Gibbs pers. comm.).
