The Buttercup miner Phytomyza fallaciosa has been found in Lincolnshire
On 7 November 2023, the often cryptic mines of Phytomyza fallaciosa Brischke, 1881 were found on Ranunculus repens at Far Ings National Nature Reserve, Barton, North Lincolnshire, VC54. Several mines with puparia (see image below) were found throughout the site, chiefly within the meadow areas.
This record represents the first known occurence of this under-recorded species in Lincolnshire.
