Leaf miner is added to the County Durham Diptera list
On 25 November 2023, Jill Cunningham spotted the larval mines of Cerodontha (Dizygomyza) iraeos (Robineau-Desvoidy, 1851) on Yellow Flag Iris (Iris pseudacorus) at Brankin Moor Local Nature Reserve, Darlington, County Durham, VC66.
Although a widespread species, Jill’s observation is the first known record of this species in the vice county. Many thanks to Jill for submitting the record.
