Two Phytobia species are added to the Fifeshire Diptera list
On 24 December 2023, Nigel Voaden examined Blackthorn and Hawthorn stems at Burntisland, Fifeshire VC85 and found the larval feeding signs of Phytobia cerasiferae (Kangas, 1955) and Phytobia carbonaria (Zetterstedt, 1848) respectively. These records represent the first known occurrence of both species in the vice county.
